Just 48 hours of solid pampering!!!
We loaded up the Tacoma and left Abq. in the early afternoon heading north towards Santa Fe. We made a pit stop at Coyote Cafe for some Bloody Maria’s and Mojitos.. The best patio in the country I might add. http://www.coyotecafe.com/cantina.htm. From there it was on to our B&B, The Dan Gaspar Inn, http://www.dongaspar.com/.. This place is in the heart of Santa Fe- you'd never know it by these photos.
Cindy and I trying to "Find the man in the Sun" on the Don Gaspar Patio.
So after a few Cocktails, it was time to get all gussied up for the Opera, and even better get ready to TAILGATE in opera parking lot!!!!! A fancy version of the footbal/NASCAR tailgate theme. We had a nice bottle of wine and Sushi from Whole Foods. Here are random shots from our dinner prior to the show.
Seriosly-
not so seriously.
The money shot. Got'cha!
We entered the Opera, oh my. It was a world class experience. The building alone took your breath away.. We saw http://ecommerce.santafeopera.org/season/production.aspx?id=1642&src=t and I had no clue what went on, but it was fancy and fun. Oh, I slept through the entire second act.. ooops.... The opera was over near 12 am on a Monday night!!! Holy smokes. We headed back into Santa Fe to our room, where stayed up way too late laughing at each other.
Tuesday we headed into town for the best breakfast in the lower 48, Cafe Pasquals http://www.pasquals.com/. Then on to Ojo Caliente. We had a private tub, massages and free range of all the mineral and mud pools.. http://www.ojocaliente.com/
Ummm, yea- we had a riot of a time!
This face sums up the 2 day get away.
