Another Pagosa Springs/Dgo weekend!!!

So it was another Southern Colorado play fest weekend .. Rob made it our way via a "work trip", which means good times, good times.. Rob and I headed up to Pagosa Friday to see some music and camp out, the http://www.folkwest.com/index2.htm was rocking the Great Divide.
However, rain and other wise crapy weather pushed us over to Dave and Kathy's place in Durango- A warm bed and a hot meal trumps sleeping in the back of the Tacoma!

Rob and I on the way to P.S. . Seriolsy-
how many times have we made this
drive to hang out w/ friends?

Rob was meeting some good Zuni buds for a bonefire at the music fest. I am not the largest fan of some of these scenes- However, made due. Rob, Kathy and I returned to Pagosa Springs so Mr. O'brien cold get his flok groove on and we wanted to ride. Kathy and I found a melow ride and I finaly go to pop the Salsa's cheery- Oh my, what a ride... The 29er is all that is advertised.. Rocking.. !

"Oh my, the Salzah is hot in these parts"

Lime green biking machine!
Only Kathy can bring back
the neon green and purple..
"Has anyone seen my fanny pack?
Guy's seriously,
where did you hide it?."

Kathy and I returned to Dgo after a stop for 'za' cheesy fuel and blasted back to Dgo. We had a great dinner party w/ some other college friends- jus tlike old times, well except we all were in bed by 10:30 and we didnt burn any furniture!!
The next day I was hankering to ride the Conental Divde and hit up Alberta Peak- I have skied down this rock 100's of times adn wanted to concur it on a bike. I have a recent obsesion w/ the CDT- and wanted to see more of it. I again droped Rob off at the music spot and did as so many time before in my life, drove to the Wolf Creek ski area http://www.wolfcreekski.com/ .

Here are some random shots of the drive- I still dig this area.

Overlooking the Pagosa Valley.

I dont know, but it was pretty.

Near the Conential Divide.

"You aint from around
here are you?"

So after all the runing around
all nimbly bimbly
the effort was paid in full buy
buffed out single track!!

Yumm!

The Salsa rocked
the swithbacks.

Boulders.. Don't want
to go over there.

Great Views.

Made it to the ski area!!

Bonanza Chair.

No, that's not a
sunburn-
I am out
o' shape!!!
Red in the face and soaked in my own salts..
Here it is, Alberta Peak.. This is as close as I
will get to my goal.. Last I heard;
Lightning is real bad um-kay... It was WWII up there...
It was awesomingly terrifing!!
The thunder was so loud I was hitting the ground
Stop-Drop & Roll stlye. So, I made a b-line
down to the Navajo Trail for a safe return home.
All of this after talking crap to Kathy that
L&T isn't all that scary. Oops.

Yea, we all have
skied over this post.

All in all another
fannntasic weekend-
Until next time boys and girls.
Cheers-
RBM
